The second generation Audi RS 3 LMS is ready for customers: Comtoyou Team Audi Sport clinched its first victory with Audi Sport driver Frédéric Vervisch in the test and development season in July and its second victory with privateer junior driver Gilles Magnus in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup in August. Now teams from all over the world can place their orders for the RS 3 LMS gen II. The brand sold a total of 180 units of the predecessor between 2016 and 2021 in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Audi Sport customer racing has not produced any other race car in such a high number within one model generation.

At the season’s midpoint, the Audi R8 LMS is the car to beat in the DTM: After Kelvin van der Linde’s third victory and Team ABT Sportsline’s 70th overall in the DTM, the South African and his squad are leading the standings. 24h Nürburgring 2021

The Nürburgring 24 Hours from June 3 to 6 is one of the most important races of the year for Audi Sport customer racing: With a track length of 25 kilometers, a 24-hour race duration and more than 120 participants, it is the race of superlatives worldwide. Audi Sport has clinched five victories with the R8 LMS at the endurance classic since 2012. At the same time, the legendary Nordschleife is the venue for a demanding baptism of fire this time: The second generation of the Audi RS 3 LMS makes its race debut at the Nürburgring in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup.

Audi Sport customer racing

Audi Sport customer racing welcomes its largest line-up of customer racing teams to two ADAC platforms this year. This year, the automobile club is positioning itself more broadly than ever before in German GT and touring car racing. In two of the club’s event packages, Audi Sport customer racing is one of the leaders with a total of 23 race cars in the GT3, GT4 and TCR categories. The series kicks off with the ADAC GT Masters, ADAC GT4 Germany and ADAC TCR Germany racing series at Oschersleben from May 14 to 16. The new ADAC Racing Weekend series will be launched at the same venue from June 25 to 27.

Audi Sport customer racing has never been so strongly represented in the European racing series of promoter SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) as in the 2021 season. A total of nine of the brand’s customer teams will field three different types of race cars in three racing series at the inaugural weekend at Monza from April 16 to 18. In an extremely thrilling finale of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), Audi Sport Team WRT improved from seventh place to second position. Mirko Bortolotti/Frédéric Vervisch/Charles Weerts crossed the finish line 22 hundredths of a second behind the winners in the rain chaos behind the safety car.
