Audi Sport Italia made a strong start in the Italian GT Championship in an endurance race that was fiercely contested all the way to the end. Two GT4 exploits and one podium result each for the Audi R8 LMS GT2 and the Audi RS 3 LMS round off the weekend’s success.
At rounds 2 and 3 of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, which were held on the same weekend at the Nürburgring on 11 and 12 July, Audi’s customers had plenty to celebrate. Audi Sport drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Christopher Haase and Markus Winkelhock in the Audi R8 LMS of the Audi Sport Team finished second overall on Sunday after four hours of racing. The GITI Tire Motorsport by WS Racing team dominated the SP8 class: Henrik Bollerslev/Niklas Kry/Carrie Schreiner remained unbeaten in the Audi R8 LMS GT4 on Saturday and Sunday. Team Bonk Motorsport won the SP3T class with Hermann Bock and Michael Bonk in the Audi RS 3 LMS on Saturday and finished second on Sunday.
