85,000 hours for climate protection: Audi employees support Volkswagen Climate Day

The Volkswagen Group created the Volkswagen Climate Day in celebration of Earth Day. The focal event is #Project1Hour, a one-hour team workshop during which all employees learn about and discuss climate change and their personal commitment to protecting the climate. AUDI AG is also carrying out further events at its locations in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm in Germany; Brussels, Belgium; Győr, Hungary; and San José Chiapa, Mexico, as well as its various companies. This amounts to roughly 85,000 working hours in total – that’s almost ten years of commitment to a healthier climate. Read more

Audi is ready for Formula E’s debut in Spain

Audi Sport customer racing has never been so strongly represented in the European racing series of promoter SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) as in the 2021 season. A total of nine of the brand’s customer teams will field three different types of race cars in three racing series at the inaugural weekend at Monza from April 16 to 18. FIA asks FE teams to review braking systems following Mortara shunt

Venturi Racing driver Mortara was taken for precautionary checks after a brake-by-wire (BBW) system fault caused him to crash heavily following a practice start in Saudi Arabia.

As a result, both Mercedes and the cars of customer team Venturi Racing were not allowed to compete in qualifying but were later cleared to start the Sunday night race.

Ahead of the Rome E-Prix double-header, the FIA has asked all teams to check the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) of their braking system.

Manufacturers must submit a list that considers all scenarios relating to an issue in order to homologate their car. Read more

Rene Rast is leaving the door open for a return to the DTM in 2022 due to Audi’s impending exit from Formula E at the end of the current campaign.

Three-time DTM champion Rast was signed by Audi for the 2020/21 FE season alongside Lucas di Grassi, having impressed the marque as a replacement for the ousted Daniel Abt in Berlin last year.

He entered Formula E with a view to forge a long-term career in the all-electric series, even giving up on a fifth season in the DTM due to clashes between the two championships.

But days after pre-season testing at Valencia in December, Audi announced that it would quit Formula E after the final round of the season, leaving an uncertain future for the German driver. Read more
