Audi Sport customer teams Saintéloc Racing and Team WRT had every reason to celebrate at the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup in Valencia. The French Saintéloc Racing team clinched second place in the first of the two races, while the Belgian Team WRT squad secured another early overall title for the 2021 season in Spain. Audi privateers enjoyed successes with the Audi RS 3 LMS, claiming podium results in four countries.
Podium finish for Saintéloc, second teams’ title for WRT: At the final race weekend for the Sprint Cup of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, Audi Sport driver Christopher Haase from the Saintéloc Racing team clinched second place in Sunday’s race with an Audi R8 LMS. Haase thus gave himself a birthday present given that he turned 34 on Sunday. Team WRT secured first place in the overall GT World Challenge Europe teams’ standings in Valencia, even before the final Endurance Cup weekend in Barcelona. Already before the races in Valencia, they had been crowned as the winners of the teams’ title in the Sprint Cup. Also before the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup finale in Spain, the two Audi Sport drivers Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor clinched their second Sprint Cup drivers’ title in a row, as well as the overall title for drivers in the GT World Challenge Europe with an Audi R8 LMS from Team WRT.
